A January arrival: Fresh 48
There’s something so magical about those first 48 hours of life—the tiny fingers, the delicate yawns, the brand-newness of it all. This Fresh 48 session was extra special because it was my very first one, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
Baby boy Jaxon made his grand entrance into the world in January, and I had the honor of capturing his earliest moments. The hospital room was filled with love, warmth, and the quiet awe that comes with meeting a brand-new little human.
One of the things I love most about Fresh 48 sessions is that they are completely baby-led. My philosophy is simple: I want to capture the baby as they are, in their own rhythm, without pushing anyone too far—after all, they just got earthside! Babies set the tone, and I follow their lead, making sure the experience is as natural and comfortable as possible for both baby and parents.
This sweet boy had three adorable outfit changes, each one showcasing just how tiny and precious he is. And that HAIR!! He had so much, thick and dark hair- 6 pounds 4 ounces of pure perfection!
What I love most about these sessions is their authenticity. These aren’t posed, styled, or overly curated moments. They’re real, raw, and beautiful—the tiny stretches, the sleepy smiles, the way parents gaze at their baby with pure adoration. It’s the first chapter of their story, and I get to freeze these fleeting moments in time.
To Justin and Jen—thank you for letting me be a part of this incredible milestone. Your love for him is already so evident, and I know he is going to be so cherished.
If you’re expecting and considering a Fresh 48 session, I’d love to be there to capture these once-in-a-lifetime moments. Let’s document the very beginning of your baby’s journey together!

Fresh 48 tips
Keep it Simple: Soft, neutral outfits or classic hospital swaddles work best.
Embrace the Natural Light: Open those blinds to let in as much natural light as possible for soft, beautiful images.
Capture the Little Details: Tiny hands, wrinkly feet, hospital bracelets—these are moments you’ll want to remember.
Stay Comfortable: Parents, wear something cozy and neutral so you feel relaxed and timeless in photos.
Let Baby Lead: No need for rigid poses; let baby stretch, yawn, and snuggle naturally.
Don't Stress: The beauty of Fresh 48 sessions is in their authenticity—no need to worry about perfection.

When to book your fresh 48 session
The best time to book your Fresh 48 session is during your second trimester or early in your third trimester. This ensures that your spot is secured on my calendar, and I can plan accordingly to be available within the first 48 hours of your baby’s arrival. Since birth can be unpredictable, I stay flexible with scheduling and ask that you or a family member reach out as soon as baby arrives so we can coordinate the best time for your session.
Hospitals have varying policies about photographers visiting after birth, so it’s also a good idea to check with your hospital beforehand to ensure a smooth experience. If you're delivering at home or a birth center, we can also plan accordingly to capture those first precious moments in your chosen space. Booking early guarantees that these fleeting, once-in-a-lifetime moments are documented beautifully and stress-free!
If you're looking for a way to capture both your pregnancy and those early newborn moments, consider booking my Bump to Babe Collection, which includes a maternity session along with a Fresh 48 or newborn session. This collection is the perfect way to document your journey into parenthood and preserve these special milestones forever.
