Amber's UNL Graduation

Amber's spring 2024 graduation from UNL was a moment to remember, and I was so thrilled to be there to capture it. It's always such a privilege to witness these milestones, and Amber's session was no exception.

Amber envisioned a shoot that celebrated not just her academic achievement, but also her personality and passion for her chosen field. She looked absolutely stunning in a flowing white dress, her curls cascading perfectly as she posed with both her cap and gown and just her cap. And of course, no nursing grad session is complete without a stethoscope! It was the perfect touch, symbolizing the caring and compassionate nurse she's about to become.

Locations

We hit some of UNL's most iconic spots for Amber's photos. First up was Memorial Stadium – it's just so grand, you know? It really captures that UNL spirit. Then we went over to Morrill Hall, where the "Mammoth" is. That's such a classic spot on campus, and it gave her photos a fun, relaxed vibe. And of course, we had to finish at the College of Nursing. It felt like the perfect way to mark the end of all her hard work there – a real full-circle moment.

Of course, no graduation shoot is complete without a little celebration! Amber popped some champagne and a confetti popper. What really made Amber's session special was having her family and friends there. Her mom, dad, girlfriend, and even her adorable dog joined in the celebration. Those moments of genuine joy and support are what make these photos truly priceless.

Planning Your Graduation Photos (Because It's Your Turn!) :

  • Book Early: Seriously, these spots go fast. Aim for about two months before graduation!
  • Find Your Spots: Think about places that are meaningful to you. A favorite spot on campus? A park you love? Talk to your photographer – they can offer great suggestions and help you find the perfect backdrops.
  • Dress for Success (and Comfort!): Choose outfits that make you feel confident and comfortable. Bring a few different looks to add some variety. And don't forget the accessories! They can really pull an outfit together.
  • Props with Personality: Got a guitar? Love to paint? Bring something that shows who you are! It makes your photos so much more personal and memorable.
  • Chat with Your Photographer: Communication is key! Share your ideas, what you like, what you don't. The more you talk, the better they can capture your vision.
